Alison Gazzard is a researcher and lecturer in new media practice and theory. She wrote a PhD thesis about  mazes and paths. It is available at the University of Hertfordshire research archive. She also has a 1st class Honours in BA(Hons) Software Systems for the Arts & Media from the University of Hertfordshire, and an MA in 3D Computer Animation from the NCCA at Bournemouth University.

She is currently employed as a Lecturer in Cultural and Contextual Studies in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, lecturing across the animation and interactive media programmes.

Her current research interests include play, platforms, space and time in videogames, locative media and augmented reality.

She loves to play videogames, find glitches, explore new places, create fictional worlds, and track journeys using a GPS datalogger.

She has many favourite videogames and finds it hard to limit the decision to just one.
